Small Kitchen Appliances
Over the years, I have found some small kitchen appliances that I just can’t do without. They have not only saved me money, but also time. So today, I’m going to go over some of the best small kitchen appliances that I can’t do without in my kitchen…Here’s my top 5 small kitchen appliances:
- Crock Pot – I love my crock pot and wouldn’t know what to do without it. Throw your ingredients in the crock pot before you leave for the day and when you come home, your dinner is ready…The best crock pot I have is the Hamilton Beach Stay or Go. I’ve had Rivals in the past, but have recently started getting into the Hamilton Beach crock pots. I find they cook more even. Crock pots are inexpensive and can do so much. You can make main meals, stews/chilis, vegetables, desserts, bread, etc. in them. A great website that I have found with recipes for the crock pot is Hazel’s Crock Pot Kitchen. Brenda really loves her crock pot and she is always posting great recipes.
- Bread Machine – Homemade bread is wonderful, but I don’t know too many people who make it anymore. Bread Machines are fairly inexpensive and just like the crock pot, you put your ingredients in, turn it on and when you get home, you have homemade bread. Now, I have to admit, I use my bread machine to make homemade rolls and jelly, which I give as gifts, but I don’t make very many loaves of bread. I just found that the hot rolls got eaten faster in my home.
- Food Choppers – This can save you so much time over cutting pieces by hand. You can get the big fancy choppers if you want, but when I started out, I found the Black & Decker 3 cup chopper and the Black & Decker 1-1/2 cup chopper and fell in love with them both…and I still have them and still use them both!
- Blender – Now these have come a long way. Easy to use, inexpensive and think of the money you will save by making your own smoothies and shakes. Plus you can make your own flavors. I like the Hamilton Beach Blender. It keeps things mixed up and I can us the dispenser instead of taking the pitcher off.
- Mixer – Once again, I like the Hamilton Beach brand mixer. I don’t have one of those monster mixers and I get along just fine. If you are or become a gourmet chef, then maybe the monster mixers are good, but for normal people who cook to feed the family, the little hand held mixers are just fine.
So there you have it…my 5 must have small kitchen appliances. Hope this helps you figure out what you might need in your kitchen.
