Kitchen Tips
Everyday we can learn something new, we just need to know where to look. Well, today you’ve looked in the right place. I’m going to give you some money saving tips, time saving tips and more…
Save the environment, along with saving your money…when you are suppose to cover a casserole dish with aluminum foil, just use a cookie sheet that has been turned upside down
Tired of all the mess involved when making muffins? No matter how hard you try, you can’t seem to fill the tins with the same amount of mix…why not try using an ice cream scoop. Scoop out the mix amount and pour into the tins. The same size muffins each time.
Inexpensive Italian dressing can make most any meat taste yummy. Stock up on store brand Italian dressing. Then when you are making chicken, let your chicken marinade in the dressing…then pour everything into a skillet and cook…or put a beef roast in the crock pot and pour a bottle of Italian dressing over it and let cook all day…even seafood is great in this dressing. Marinade your shrimp in the dressing and then put on a skewer and grill up…
Don’t you love the flavor onions give to your recipes, but hate the smell they leave on your hands…don’t fret…just rub some regular salt on your hands and then wash with soap and water…
Use a ladle to make your pancakes the same size…also, if you like waffles, using a ladle will help you know how much you need so the batter doesn’t overflow…
Have too many lemons/oranges, etc…why not freeze them for later? Take the whole fruit and freeze them. Then when a recipe calls for juice of a lemon/orange, you can thaw out the fruit and have the juice ready…this works great for the zest also…plus if you get them on sale and during season, then freeze them, you can have them even when they aren’t in season…
A bottle brush can be used to clean your grater when you are done. It makes the job easier to do and you don’t have to worry about ‘grating’ your fingers while cleaning them up.
A knife held under hot water will help get that marshmallow creme out of the jar easier…
Graham cracker crust is used for a lot of pies, so make sure yours stays fresh…use real butter when making your crust. No more soggy crust.
So there you have, some more great tips to help you in the kitchen. I would love for you to share your tips with me…I love learning new things…
