How to Microwave Chicken

You can microwave chicken and it won’t be dry and it will taste wonderful.  Take the seasonings of your choice and microwave chicken using the guidelines below:

The following are the tips and techniques to microwaving chicken pieces:

Broiler-fryer – 3 to 3 1/2 pounds – on Medium high heat (70%) for 18 to 22 minutes rearranging once.

Breast Halves (bone in) – 2 (1 to 1 1/2 pounds) – on Medium (60%) for 14 to 16 minutes.  If you have 4 (2 to 2 1/2 pounds) -  on Medium high heat (70%) for 18 to 22 minutes.

Breast Halves (boneless) – 4 (1 to 1 1/2 pounds) – on Medium (60%) for 14 to 16 minutes

Drummies or Wings – 1 1/2 to 2 pounds – on Hgh (100%) for 10 to 12 minutes.  Rearranging once.

Legs or Thighs – 1 to 1 1/2 pound – on High (100%) for 9 to 11 minutes.

For all of the above, you will want to have a standing time of 5 minutes and you will want to make sure that juices are not pink and that the thickest part of the piece you are cooking is done.  You can cut into the piece to see if the juices flow clear or you can poke the thickest piece with a fork.  If the juices are clear, then the piece is done.

Ground Chicken – 1 pound – on High for 4 to 6 minutes, stirring once.  Make sure the ground chicken has no pink on it.

Ground Chicken Patties (1/2 inch thick) – 1 pound for Medium High (70%) cook for 6 to 8 minutes rearranging once.  Make sure the center of the patties are not pink.

Let today be the day that you go healthy and enjoy your chicken!
