Pantry Items

Pantry items or staples can be a lot of different things based on your tastes and on your cooking ability.  Below is a list of items that would be a great starting point:

  • Baking powder
  • Baking soda
  • Beans, canned: black, red kidney, white
  • Broth, canned: beef, vegetable,  and/or chicken
  • Cooking spray
  • Cornstarch
  • mustard, ketchup, mayo, etc.
  • BBQ sauce, A1 sauce
  • Crackers
  • Vanilla extract
  • Flour: All purpose
  • Sugar:  regular and brown sugar
  • Pasta, dried: spaghetti, linguini, angel hair, fettuccine, penne, noodles, etc. (whatever you like)
  • Vegetables: canned – corn, peas, green beans, etc. (whatever you like)
  • Potatoes, fresh or frozen and instant
  • Rice: flavored
  • Soup: canned – cream of chicken and cream of mushroom are great in a lot of recipes
  • Tomatoes: canned whole, crushed, chopped, puree, sauce, fresh (whichever you like)
  • Tuna, canned
  • seasonings:  salt, pepper, garlic salt, onion salt, chili powder, cinnamon, paprika, etc.

This is just a basic list of items.  You need to figure out what you will use the most and keep those on hand.
